Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade

Description

CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-017-R1, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, City of Shasta Lake. Project is limited to the portion of the City of Shasta Lake Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade Project (Project) where the proposed outfall will be installed to discharge treated water into Churn Creek. A pipeline will lead from the treatment plant to the proposed outfall and part of the pipeline will be constructed within the riparian zone and bank of Chun Creek. The new 24-inch diameter outfall will be installed to replace the existing 8-inch outfall. The existing outfall will be abandoned in place. The new outfall will disturb or remove 35 cubic yards of soil and will have an approx. 100 sq. ft. footprint and result in approx. 0.01 acres of permanent impacts to the riparian area and .054 acres of temporary impacts to the riparian area. Rock slope protection for the outfall structures will include approx. 16 cubic yards of angular rock underlain with fabric and will be placed on the bank and within the riparian area according to submitted plans.
