Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to replace the existing State Route 217 San Jose Creek Bridge (Bridge# 51-0217) to address the presence of reactive aggregates in the existing structure and meet current standards. The new bridge design would be a two-span structure and be located at the existing location. During construction, the following would occur: existing bridge structure would be removed and a new bridge will be constructed with wider outside shoulders;
the existing bicycle and pedestrian path across the bridge would be widened and realigned to conform to the new bridge profile; vegetation removal and replanting would be conducted; and temporary traffic control would be required.
