Title
Vaca Dixon - Lakeville 230 kV Reconductoring Project
Description
PG&E proposes to replace existing conductors on Vaca Dixon-Lakeville 230 kV electric transmission line (Line) with conductors that have a higher emergency rating. PG&E proposes to add 700 megawatts of capacity. The project includes modifications to approx. 189 existing steel lattice towers along the 40-mile Line. At some sites where existing access roads cross drainages, creeks, or other water features, the project will require crossing improvements. Installation of new culverts, replacement of existing culverts, and addition of rock, riprap, or fill (dirt and/or gravel), will be conducted to allow for the passage of construction equipment. Nineteen of the twenty sites that will affect watercourses will consist of temporary or permanent drainage crossing improvements. Depending on site-specific conditions and construction access needs, the drainage crossing improvements will consist of culvert replacement/installation/reinforcement, temporary bridge installation, or at-grade crossing installation. CDFW is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2014-0270-R3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Robert Stiving, PG&E.
