- Title
- Soquel Pump Station Force Main Replacement Project
- Description
- The District is taking a proactive approach to install a new transmission main under Soquel Creek with a goal to safeguard against the possibility of a sanitary sewer overflow resulting from pipe failure. The primary objectives of the project are to provide a second transmission main under Soquel Creek to accommodate the full peak wet weather flow during a 10-year storm event (19 mgd) in order to provide the District with operational flexibility and system redundancy for Soquel Creek crossing, upgrade the Soquel Creek Pump Station (SCPS) to improve operational reliability with the addition of a surge valve, a flow meter with remote monitoring capability, and replacement ofa valves with new automated controls. The District will install a new transmission main crossing the Soquel Creek from the SCPS to the existing Transmission main discharge point with Clares Street; Install new pump isolation valves and replace pump discharge check valves with automated controls; Replace the motor control center; Relocate the existing PG&E meter from inside the pump station to the outside; Install a magnetic flow meter and surge valve with remote monitoring capability; Improve conditions of the existing wet well at the SCPS including connections for use of trailer mounted pumps for emergency response; and install two 2-inch fiber optic conduits within the same alignment as the Transmission Main.
