Title
North Flynn Road Slipout
Description
The California Department of Transportation (Permittee) proposes to repair roadway damage and deficiencies that include broken roadway slabs, erosion of the hillside supporting the eastbound lanes and outside shoulder, and the deficiencies in the underground drainage system. Proposed work includes the installation of a tie-back wall between PM 3.9 and 4.2, reconstruction of pavement and shoulder widening, installation of guard rails and barriers, and the repair and upgrade of existing drainage facilities, including the replacement of an existing cross culvert and downdrain, and the installation of two new drainage culverts. The Project will result in 1.5 acres of impacts to California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
