Title
SR-70/Feather River Blvd Interchange
Description
On June 11, 2013, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) issued ITP No. 2081-2012-050-02 to the Yuba County Public Works Department, authorizing take of giant garter snake (Thamnophis gigas) associated with and incidental to the Feather River Boulevard Interchange Project in Yuba County, California. The proposed interchange will consists of a compact diamond layout for south bound movements and an L-9 partial-clover leaf for north bound movements on SR 70 approximately 0.4 miles north of the Bear River. The interchange will include a four-lane over crossing of SR 70, five interchange ramps, and removal of the existing Feather River Blvd at-grade intersection and traffic signal. The CDFW is issuing an Amendment to the ITP due to a delay in the start of work. The Amendment makes two specific changes to the ITP as originally issued. These changes will extend the term of the ITP by one year to December 31, 2015 and will allow for work beyond October 1st for select activities under the condition that additional avoidance and minimization measures are in place. The resulting impacts to the Covered Species, however, including take and the number of acres of habitat that will be lost, as a result of the Project, will remain the same.
