Title
City of Galt Live Oak Pump Station (pump station) and Force Main Project
Description
The construction and operation of new wastewater collection infrastructure to replace aging infrastructure, increase system reliability, and meet projected growth demands associated with buildout of the 2030 Galt General Plan. The project involves construction of a new pump station and ancillary facilities and installation of approximately 1,800 feet of 16-inch diameter force main and approximately 1,800 feet of 30-inch diameter gravity sewer pipeline. Both of these pipelines would connect the existing LOPS with the proposed pump station further west at 10065 Live Oak Avenue. Additionally, the project includes installation of approximately 12,800 feet of 24-inch diameter force main connecting the proposed pump station to the Galt Wastewater Treatment Plant at 10059 Twin Cities Road. The proposed pump station would be a wet well type pump station with four submersible pumps for a total ultimate capacity of 14.1 MGD. The existing Live oak pump station and 16-inch force main that runs from the existing LOPS along McFarland Street/UPRR tracks all the way to the WWTP will be rehabilitated in order to provide system redundancy (back up) for the new system; the pipeline will be retrofitted to include 9,900 feet of lining.
