Pennington Creek Bridge Removal and Streambed Restoration Project

Description

The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project applicant. The applicant proposes to remove a wooden bridge over Pennington Creek and restore in-stream habitat following completion of the bridge removal. The bridge would be removed by cutting timbers into small sections and lifting the sections out of the channel using a crane located on the new bridge deck. Tarps or mats would be installed under the bridge deck prior to removal to capture any sawdust or other debris that could potentially enter the creek channel. The stream channel would be isolated by installing a culvert and diverting flow through the culvert during Project activities. Equipment used will include a crane or excavator, dump trucks, chainsaws, and similar equipment. This is to advise that the California Department of Fish and Game as a Responsible Agency approved the Project described above on August 23, 2010, and has made the following determinations regarding the above described Project.
