Eldorado-Ivanpah Transmission Project

Description

CDFG is executing a Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement (SAA#1600-2011-0162-R6) pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Southern California Edison. The Applicant is proposing to construct a 220/115-Kkilovolt (kV) Ivanpah Substation, the replacement of approximately 35 miles of exiting 115-kV line with a double-circuit 220-kV, transmission line between the existing Eldorado Substation and the Ivanpah Dry lake area, and installation of a telecommunication system along two separate and redundant pathways, on 5.23 acres with 45.5 acres being temporarily disturbed. The project will impact 15.85 acres desert wash habitat.
