SCE proposes to construct, use and maintain new and upgraded transmission facilities to deliver electricity from projected solar generation development in the Ivanpah Dry Lake Area. The proposed project involves several types of transmission upgrades including a new Ivanpah 220/115-kilovolt (kV) Substation, a new approximately 35-mile double-circuit 220-kV transmission line (T/L) between the Ivanpah Dry Lake Area and the existing Eldorado Substation, and a telecommunication system.
