Title
Standardized Permit Reissuance for Ramos Enviromental Services
Description
DTSC's approved the Standardized Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (Permit) pursuant to CA Health and Safety Code section 25200 for the existing Ramos Environmental Services (RES) hazardous waste storage and transfer facility, EPA Identification No. CAD 044 003 556 (the Facility). The Facility is currently operating under the Standardized Hazardous Waste Facility Permit issued by DTSC in 1999. The approved Permit (referred to as a permit re-issuance) would allow RES to continue the consolidation, bulking, storage, and transfer of non-RCA hazardous wastes such as used oil, used antifreeze, oily water, oily sludge, non-RCRA oily solids, and non-RCRA oily soils. The activities occur in aboveground tanks and containers and in a loading and unloading area. The approved Permit consolidates the nine individual units from the current permit into three units. The waste management activities that occur under the proposed Permit would generally remain the same as those under the current Permit, except the 75,000 gallon tank (Unit 5 in the current permit) will not be authorized in the approved re-issuance Permit. Due to the absence of the 75,000 gallon tank and the increase in allowed capacity for Units 1 and 2, the overall authorized capacity for the Facility under the approved Permit will decline from the current permit's authorized capacity of 114,485 gallons (liquids and solids) to 47,659 gallons (liquids) and 16 tons of solid waste.
