Document Description
The UC Merced Medical Education Building (MEB) was approved by the Regents in May 2023; this action amends the previously approved design. The MEB will house UC Merced’s medical education program, including specialty learning spaces, general assignment classrooms, community-engaged research space, class laboratories to support several new and existing academic programs, and academic and staff support office spaces. The building will be approximately 203,500 gross square feet in size, with four floors, all electric, and meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) Platinum standard. Approximately 44,500 gsf of the building will be unfinished shell space for future medical education programs.
