Document Description
AT&T Mobility is seeking to improve communication services in Yolo County by installing a telecommunications tower along SR 16 near the communities of Capay and Brooks. The area is a combination of flat and hilly farmland with mostly grape and olive crops. Surrounding land uses consist of agricultural and rural residences. The facility would sit on a 35-ft. by 30-ft. leased area and the overall tower height would be 120 feet, so that the signal can reach the intended service area. Additional facilities include an equipment shelter with a 30-kW diesel generator, 6-ft. tall chain link security fence, and improved access road to the lease area. To minimize potential visual impacts, the communications equipment would be hidden inside a faux water tower. Underground power lines will be installed within an existing roadway to power the facility and buried fiber optic lines will provide for remote communication and facility control. Construction would begin in late 2019 or early 2020 and would take approximately 90 days.
