Document Description
The proposed project consists of a carbon capture and mineralization pilot facility that would operate for a 12-month period. The facility would remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from a slipstream of flue gas from Calpine's Los Medanos Energy Center or an outlet stream of gas from a gas-fired steam boiler and combine the removed CO2 with locally sourced demolished/returned concrete to produce new "CO2 sequestered" and "upcycled" rock products. These products would be sold to Bay Area businesses, governments and consumers for use in a wide range of low carbon and high-performance concrete applications.
