Document Description
The California Area Indian Health Service an agency with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services proposes to provide financial assistance to the Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health, Inc., under the Small Ambulatory Grant Program, to construct a replacement health care facility on the Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indian Reservation in Thermal, California. The Torres-Martinez Indian Health Clinic Replacement Project will be located on a 2.5 acre parcel, approximately 0.45 kilometers (0.28 miles) south of 66th Avenue and immediately west of Martinez Road, near the Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indian Administration Complex. This site had previously supported a date palm orchard, which was destroyed in a fire more than 10 years ago. The replacement clinic will consist of a single building, 1,078.1 square meters (11,605 square feet) in size, parking for 62 vehicles, landscaping, parking lot lights and a pedestrian path to connect the new health clinic to the adjacent senior housing center.
