Two Build Alternatives (including Design Option B} and the No Build Alternative are being considered (Alternative 2 - Flyover and Alternative 4 - Southbound Collector Distributor and Hook Ramps [includes Design Opt ion BJ). The Build Alternatives are in Orange County at the 1-5/EI Toro Road Interchange wit h in the cities of Laguna Hills, Lake Forest, and Laguna Woods. The project limits extend from 0.1 mile south of Los Alisos Boulevard Overcrossing (PM 17.8) to 0.4 mile north of Ridge Route Drive (PM 19.7), and on El Toro Road from Rockfield Bouleva rd to Paseo De Valencia. The total length of the project limits is 1.9 miles. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve traffic flow and traffic signal optimization, to reduce traffic congestion at and through adjacent local street intersections, and to reduce freeway ramp queuing.
