Title: Amendment of Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO)
Description: The California Department of Water Resources, pursuant to California Government Code §65596.5, amends the Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO). The amendments, established by the California Administrative Procedure Act (Chapter 3.5 (commencing with Section 11340) of Part 1 of Division 3 of Title 2 of the Government Code), simplify MWELO by resolving ambiguities, providing clarity, and improving MWELO’s organization. The amendments will facilitate more consistent implementation of MWELO by making the ordinance easier to understand, follow, and implement/enforce by cities and counties.
