Title: Tamien Nation Cultural Fire Stewardship Program Phase 1
Description: Notice of Exemption for Coastal Conservancy approval of grant funding on June 1, 2023, for the Tamien Nation Cultural Fire Stewardship Program Phase 1. The program consists of multi-partner cooperative capacity-building and project implementation focused on restoring cultural burning and wildfire resilience on Tamien Nation ancestral lands. The project consists of the professional training and purchase of equipment needed for an approximately five person Tamien Nation Cultural Fire Burn Crew. As part of the project, the new crew will conduct their first vegetation management activities, including prescribed burns, at Henry W. Coe State Park in partnership with California State Parks.
