Title
Eureka High School - Albee Stadium Renovation Project
Description
The Eureka City Schools (ECS) proposes to rehabilitate the failing storm drain system and improve various athletic facilities in support of existing athletic programs. At Albee Stadium, the project involves replacement of the existing track and field facilities, replacing the existing sod football field with a new synthetic turf football field, renovation of the softball field, new retaining walls, concrete flatwork, relocation of freestanding scoreboards, new fencing, new stadium lighting, construction of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible paths of travel, and other improvements throughout the project site. The existing parking lot will be replaced. The existing 30-inch diameter concrete storm drainpipe that conveys Cooper Creek beneath the site will be replaced using open trenching methods with a new 42-inch diameter high-performance polypropylene (HP) storm drainpipe that is sized to pass the 100-year storm flow, and the inlet will be improved with a new concrete headwall and rock energy dissipator. Various auxiliary, utility, and stormwater management improvements are also proposed, including new storm drain piping and bioretention basins to manage and treat stormwater runoff. The existing field house will be demolished and reconstructed and two new structures, including a multi-use building (such as concessions, restrooms) and athletics building (such as team rooms, restrooms), will be constructed. The press box will be renovated. At Bud Cloney Field, the project involves renovation of the baseball field facilities, demolition of the Technology Center Building (also known as the Welding Shop), removal of the Portable Agriculture Classrooms and sheds, construction of a new parking lot, and replacement of sewer, water, electrical, and gas services. The project will construct ADA accessible paths of travel throughout the project site. The existing concrete storm drainpipe that conveys Cooper Creek beneath the site will be replaced using open trenching methods with a new HP storm drainpipe that is sized to pass the 100-year storm flow, and the outlet will be improved with a new concrete headwall and rock energy dissipator. Various auxiliary, utility, and stormwater management improvements are also proposed, including the construction of new storm drain piping and bioretention basins to manage and treat stormwater runoff.
