Document Description
The project is limited to three encroachments: 1) culvert replacement and riparian restoration; 2) wetland restoration; and 3) wetland creation. The project will rehabilitate the failing storm drain system and renovate various athletic and educational facilities at Eureka High School. The existing 30-inch diameter concrete pipe that conveys Cooper Creek beneath the site (1,500 feet) will be replaced using open trenching methods with a new 42-inch diameter high-performance polypropylene (HP) storm drainpipe that is sized to pass the 100-year storm flow. The inlet and outlet of the storm drainpipe will be improved with new concrete headwalls and rock energy dissipators. Temporary impacts to 75 feet of stream (Cooper Creek) will result from culvert replacement and RSP placement. Additional temporary stream impacts will result from proposed wetland creation (approximately 50 linear feet) and wetland restoration (approximately 60 linear feet). The Biological Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Plan (BMMRP) describes the wetland mitigation (creation and restoration), stream restoration, and riparian restoration.
