Ontario International Airport South Airport Cargo Center Project

Description

The proposed Project is an aeronautical development and use within the Airport boundaries and consistent with the Ontario International Airport Layout Plan. The proposed Project would include demolition of the existing buildings and improvements on the site, and the development of a new air cargo center in two phases. The proposed air cargo center includes a cargo sorting building (Air Cargo Sort Building), truckyard, parking facilities, two aviation support buildings (ground service equipment [GSE] and aircraft line maintenance buildings), and aircraft apron improvements. The Air Cargo Sort Building, proposed north of East Avion Street, would contain a sorting facility and office spaces. A parking structure for employees is proposed south of East Avion Street, with a pedestrian bridge connecting the parking structure to the office building. A new substation proposed by SCE for the proposed Project would be located to the west of the parking structure. Fire lanes would be located around the substation and parking structure. Phase 1 would take place on the easternmost 62 acres of the Project site, and Phase 2 would occur on the remaining western 35 acres.
