Title: K Line Northern Extension Transit Corridor Project (KNE) Draft EIR
Description: The project would extend Metro's light rail transit K Line (formerly Crenshaw/LAX Line) north from its current terminus at the Metro E Line (Expo) to the Metro D Line (Purple) and B Line (Red) heavy rail transit lines, with a terminus either at Hollywood/Highland Station or the optional Hollywood Bowl Station. The project includes the evaluation three KNE underground alignments: (1) San Vicente-Fairfax Alignment, (2) Fairfax Alignment and (3) La Brea Alignment. To facilitate operations of the project, KNE includes an expansion of Metro’s Rail Division 16 Maintenance Yard, which is located near the intersection of Aviation Boulevard and Arbor Vitae Street in the City of Los Angeles, along the southern segment of the existing K Line in the vicinity of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The proposed project is the Fairfax Alignment, which would extend the K Line to the B Line at Hollywood/Highland.
