Title
Sacramento Island Trailhead Project
Description
The City of Redding, in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), proposes to construct a recreational trail and parking area in the Riverland Open Space area located along the Sacramento River. The purpose of the project is to improve accessability by paving the existing footpath and parking area, and funding for the project is provided through the Federal Lands Access Program. The project consists of a 10-foot wide and 3,900-foot long shared use path, a formalized parking area, restroom facilities, sign installation, and landscape features such as planters and shade trees. The 3,900-foot trail extends to the BLM property line, providing formal access to this piece of public land.
