Lower Curtis Park - Dirt Import and Stockpile Project
Description
The City of Mission Viejo proposes to import approximately 760,000 cubic yards of dirt from freeway improvements to Interstate 5 (I-5) by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and stockpile the dirt on a vacant 42.9-gross acre site that is located adjacent to and east of Curtis Park. The dirt would be hauled by trucks to the project site and graded into a pad that could be used in the future for recreational use. The 760,000 cubic yards of dirt would be hauled to the site over a period of three (3) years. Approximately 27.18-acres of the 40.26-acre site is in the City of Mission Viejo and the remaining 13.08-acres are in Orange County.
