Folsom Light Rail Modernization Double Track Project

Description

The Sacramento Regional Transit District proposes to improve light rail service along its Gold Line. The improvements include: - improved service from 30-minute headways to 15-minute headways; - installation of a second track in two segments (~0.6 mile in Folsom; ~ 1.2 miles in Rancho Cordova and Sacramento County); - addition of loading platforms, one each at the existing Glenn Station in Folsom and Hazel Station in Sacramento County, designed to accommodate new low-floor light rail vehicles; - updated train signaling to serve the increased number of trains and reduce crossing gate down times; and - modifications to the overhead contact system and support poles that deliver power to the trains.
