The project would allow SacRT to operate light rail service at 15-minute intervals by: installing passing tracks in two locations, a 0.6-mile segment in Folsom and a 1.2 mile segment in Rancho Cordova and unincorporated Sacramento County; adding a second platform to existing Glenn and Hazel light rail stations; updating the signal system that controls light rail train movements; and realigning the freight tracks in Rancho Cordova and adding a new freight siding to facilitate freight train movement.
