Title: Summer Flow Augmentation of Malibu Creek
Description: The Las Virgenes - Triunfo JPA owns and operates the Tapia Water Reclamation Facility (Tapia WRF), which currently treats approx 7 M gallons of wastewater per day. The JPA proposes to construct and operate ammonia removal facilities at Tapia WRF for the treatment of potable water. The project also includes installation of approx 1,270 ft of 8-in pipeline from the existing potable water supply (at the intersection of Las Virgenes Rd and Pluma Rd), across Malibu Creek on a County bridge, and to the treatment plant prior to discharge in an existing outfall. Treated potable water would be discharged to Malibu Creek to augment summertime flows with the required volumes of water meeting the nutrient discharge limits for nitrogen and phosphorus as defined in the NPDES permit for the Tapia WRF.
