Title: Department of Motor Vehicles Santa Maria Field Office Replacement Project
Description: Note: Lead Agency DMV with assistance from DGS, RESD The proposed project will be a single-story, approx 13,700 sf building on an approx 3-acre project site at 2770 Santa Maria Way in the city of Santa Maria, CA. The proposed project, which would provide an increased operational capacity to meet existing and future demand, will be constructed in a contemporary architectural style, and will achieve Zero Net Energy and LEED "Silver" higher certification. The proposed project will include 102 car parking spaces, including 4 accessible parking spaces, 4 electric vehicle charging spaces, and 3 alternative fuel efficient vehicle spaces, as well as bicycle, motorcycle, semi-truck and trailer, and delivery truck parking. The drive test lane and motorcycle skills testing area will be located in the southwest corner of the project site. The proposed project will include 7-ft high decorative security fencing around the perimeter of the project site and decorative sliding security gates at the pedestrian and vehicular entrances. Infrastructure improvements at the project site include installation of utilities (water, sewer, and power), walkways, curbs and gutters, signage, site lighting, landscaping, trash enclosures, and site drainage/stormwater collection system.
