Operation of Rancho California Water District - Disinfection Improvements at the Ace Bowen and Senga Doherty Pump Stations Project (Project)

Description

Site 1: The District will construct 3 chloramination chemical injections stations, (each including a static mixer, water sampling probe in a vault, and associated piping). The District will also construct a disinfection building and install 2 sodium hypochlorite metering pumps, 2 aqua ammonia metering pumps, an aqua ammonia storage tank, an ammonia scrubber, 3 chlorine analyzers, 3 chloramine analyzers, and a sodium hypochlorite generation system with water supply chiller. Concrete tank foundations with a metal sunshade will also be installed to shelter a sodium hypochlorite tank, salt brine maker, and a relocated standby generator. Site 2: The District installed a chloramination chemical injection station, including a static mixer and piping. The District also constructed at a disinfection building and installed 2 sodium hypochlorite metering pumps, 2 aqua ammonia metering pumps, a sodium hypochlorite tank and brine makeup tank, an aqua ammonia storage tank, an ammonia scrubber, a chlorine analyzer, a chloramine analyzer, and a sodium hypochlorite generation system with water supply chiller. A concrete foundation with metal sunshade was also installed to shelter a sodium hypochlorite tank, a salt brine maker, and outdoor air conditioning unit. An existing chlorine shed was removed from the site. The project will provide for the operation of the system.
