- The area is characterized by chaparral composed of moderate to dense occurences of Manzanita, mountain mahogany and rabbit brush with highly scattered Ponderosa pine and interior live oak throughtout. Elevation ranges from 2,700 feet to 3,200 feet with slopes rangin from 0% to 30%. The project will invovle the installation of a 180-acre shaded fuel break 200 feet wide on each side of a portion of State Highway 97, Big Springs Road and Ordway Road.
