Title
Second San Diego Aqueduct Moosa Canyon Erosion Control Project
Description
CDFW has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-0033-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, San Diego county Water Authority. Project is limited to stream impacts associated with the Moosa Canyon Crossing Erosion Control Project. In 2016, San Diego County Water Authority completed the Moosa Creek Pipeline Protection Project (SAA 1600-2016-0130-R5) which was an interim project that stabilized the banks and channel bottom of Moosa Creek immediately surrounding existing pipelines which cross Moosa Creek. This project will expand the stabilization and armoring of Moosa Creek in the vicinity of the pipelines. The project will install rip-rap downstream of the pipeline alignment and on the stream banks above the existing structure that was installed in 2016. The project will permanently impact up to 0.646 acre of stream habitat, and temporarily impact 0.209 acre of stream habitat. To compensate for permanent stream impacts, Permittee will deduct 1.35 of stream credits from the Permittee's Manchester Habitat Management Area. Temporary stream impacts will be restored with native vegetation upon completion of the construction project.
