Document Description
The Project's purpose is to stabilize a portion of the Moosa Canyon Creek channel to protect against further erosion, which could lead to failure of the underlaying Second Aqueduct pipelines. The proposed channel stabilization entails constructing an engineered rip rap feature at and downstream of the pipelines creek crossing. The project would use 1/2 ton sized rip rap that would be placed from just west of the westernmost pipeline alignment to approximately 200 feet downstream. A portion of the rip rap placed downstream of the aqueduct alignment would be grouted in place to ensure long-term stability, while the rip rap placed on the banks and the remainder of the downstream rip rap would be non-grouted.
