Title
Aliso Creek - Limeklin Creek Restoration Project
Description
The proposed project will include the design and construction of stormwater BMPs to treat urban runoff and stormwater to reduce pollutants in flow from Aliso and Limkiln Creeks, which ultimately flows to the LA River. Proposed BMPs include in channel diversions, pump stations, pretreatment devices, subsurface piping, vegetated biofiltration basins and electrical and instrumentation equipment. Urban runoff and stormwater from Aliso Creek, Limkiln Creek flood control channels, and an existing 102-inch storm drain pipe willbe diverted to pretreatment devices for removal of trash and debris. The partially treated water will then be conveyed to three biofiltration basins located on the southeast, south, and west portions of the project area. The treated water and overflow is eventually redirected back to the creeks that ultimately drain into the LA River. The basins would be designed to preserve the natural look of the park and may function as wildlife habitat. Other BMPs may include permeable paving and interpretive signage.
