- Description
- The District has prepared the Comprehensive Facilities Master Plan to guide the District in planning water, recycled water, and wastewater system improvement projects required to meet demands of existing customers as well as the anticipated growth in customers through 2040. The Master Plan includes 173 potable water projects, 60 wastewater projects and 8 recycled water projects. In addition, the Master Plan includes the District's East County Advanced Water Purification Project. The AWP Project would capture wastewater generated within East San Diego County, treat the wastewater locally and recycle the water using state of the art technology to create a safe, sustainable supply of drinking water from the region while assisting the region to comply with the Clean Water Act by diverting solids and wastewater flows from the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant.
