Hamilton Hospital Assisted Living Facility

Description

The Hamilton Hospital Assisted Living Facility proposes the rehabilitation and expansion of the Hamilton Hospital for use as an 80-room senior assisted living facility and memory care center. These facilities are intended to primarily serve persons aged 62 yrs or older who require some assistance with daily living needs or 24-hr care and supervision due to the effects of dementia and Alzheimer's. The primary project components include: - preserving and rehabilitating the original hospital building and its associated historic site improvements, including a central landscape island, consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties; - Removal and disposal of building related hazardous materials, including asbestos and lead based paint; - removing two 1940s additions made to the original hospital building on its south (rear) and west wings; both additions were found to be non-historic components of the building; - construction of a two and three story building addition of approximately 56,522 sf in floor area, located on and connected to the south and east sides of the original hospital building; - Construction of a new 24-stall parking facility near Hamilton Parkway; and - installing new landscape and hardscape amenities around the care facility.
