Title
Oak Hills and Bandicoot Basin Project
Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0121-R6, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, San Bernardino County Flood Control. The proposed project includes the construction and operation of one storm water detention basin: the Bandicoot Basin as well as additional work along Bandicoot Trail in association with the proposed Bandicoot Basin. The basin will be designed in accordance with the San Bernardino County's Detention Basin Criteria. The County's Detention Basin Criteria require detention basins to have an emergency spillway to pass the fully developed 1,000-year peak flow, or that peak flow rate required by the CA Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD), whichever is greater. The design of the proposed detention basin will incorporate emergency spillways to prevent overtopping of the basin embankments. Additionally, the basin will fall within the jurisdiction of DSOD based on the proposed embankment heights (25 feet) and the anticipated detention volumes. The proposed project would also include construction of associated inlet and outlet structures, channels and/or closed conduits, transition structures, headwalls, wingwalls, basin embankments, access roads along tops of the embankments and around the basins, and access ramps to the basin floor. The maximum construction impact area is estimated to be 61 acres for Bandicoot Basin.
