- Title
- Stagecoach Road Low Water Crossing Replacement Project
- Description
- CDFW has executed streambed alteration agreement no. 1600-2015-0255-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to the project applicant, Calaveras County (the Permittee) as represented by Mark Davis. The project includes the removal of the low water crossing and replacement with a new structure that will accommodate two 9-ft lanes with 2-ft shoulders. The new bridge will be a single span cast-in place, post-tensioned, concrete, voided slab approximately 70-ft long and 25.5-ft wide and will clear span Little Johns Creek. Removal of the existing low water crossing will be conducted by an excavator within the footprint of the project to avoid additional impacts to the creek and upland areas. Following removal, the area will be regraded to match the natural contours of the creek. Construction of the bridge will involve excavation and construction of concrete abutments supported on spread footings. Construction of the north abutment will result in 0.01 acres of permanent impact and 0.08 acres of temporary impacts to Little Johns Creek. Removal of the low water crossing will result in a net increase of 0.02 acres of natural streambed. Temporary falsework will be required, using the portion of Little Johns Creek that is disturbed by the low water crossing, to support the superstructure concrete until it reaches strength. Work within Little Johns Creek may require placement of temporary culverts to direct the flow water through the work area.
