Chico Well Station 9-03 Project (UP 13-04 and Conditional Noise Permit)

Description

A proposed new domestic water well and associated structures at an existing Cal Water pump site located at the southeasterly corner of East 5th Street and Olive Street. The proposal includes a request for a conditional noise permit to authorize overnight construction operations for one night. The new well is anticipated to have a design capacity of approx. 1,000 gallons per minute, though water would only be pumped in response to demand resulting from use of the system. The project was approved in 2014 contingent upon a temporary sound wall of a certain design in place during the well construction. The applicant now proposes to use a temporary sound wall that would be slightly less effective, so the noise mitigation has been modified accordingly.
