Truckee R. Br and Donner Lake UC Bridge Scour Treatment

Description

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2013-0287-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The purpose of the project is to repair bridge support structure by repairing bent caps, replacing seismic shear blocks, and replacing seismic restrainer cables on the Truckee River Bridge right side only, which is the I-80 eastbound direction. Water intrusion into the fractured concrete on the bridge deck is causing the bridge bents to spall and fracture. The deteriorated condition is a serious threat to the structural integrity of the bridge. Repair of the bent caps and replacement of the seismic elements are needed to prevent further.
