United States Route 95 (US-95) Vertical Profile Realignment Project
Description
Proposed project involves realigning U.S. Highway 95 (US-95) to the east between Post Mile (PM) 51.22 and 51.65 to improve sight distance by eliminating vertical crest curves. The realigned road will be constructed with two 12-foot hot mix asphtal (HMA) lanes with two eight-foot HMA shoulders and center lines will be restriped for no passing. The project will result in 6.64 acres of total impact to desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) habitat, including temporary impacts of 4.59 acres and permanent impacts of 2.05 acres of desert tortoise habitat.
