Title
Crescent City Marsh Wildlife Area - Endangered Western Lily Habitat Enhancement
Description
The overall intent of the Project is to enhance and increase critical habitat for the western lily by creating and maintaining early successional habitat. The 1998 U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) Recovery Plan (Plan) for western lily (Lilium occidentale) identifies secondary succession as a primary reason for decline of lily populations throughout its restricted range. DFW, in cooperation with the Service, seeks to improve and manage critical habitat for this State and federally endangered species. Until about 10 years ago, the CCM supported more than 75% of the total reproductive population for the species.
