Title: Nielsen Avenue Recharge Basin Project (Recirculation)
Description: The project would excavate basins and construct related facilities for conveying water, on approximately 35 acres to develop recharge facilities to replenish the Fresno Sol Source Aquifer (a portion of the Kings Groundwater Basin under the central Fresno metropolitan area) using surface water from Fresno Irrigation District's (FID) Houghton Canal. (The City of Fresno has rights to Kings River water via FID; USBR contractual rights to San Joaquin River water; and has a water rights application for Fresno Stream Group elements. Water may be conveyed transferred from these and other sources to provide for recharge.) "Related facilities" include turnouts and valves, a settling basin, fencing and gates, and onsite wells for monitoring, etc.
