Draft Airport Layout Plan Project

Description

The Draft Airport Layout Plan assesses the existing San Bernardino International Airport (SBD or Airport) facilities and operations. Then, based on specific assumptions outlined in the Narrative Report, future Airport operations are forecast through the 2030 planning horizon. Finally, based on the future Airport operations forecast, the anticipated infrastructure modifications to the Airport that are required to support future operations are defined. At a general level this includes: air traffic patterns and the number of aircraft using the Airport; future vehicle traffic to access the Airport; facility requirements related to locations of structures and their associated physical and land use sensitive, and to size (construction impacts); the structure of airspace, air traffic control responsibilities and procedures taxiway operations, capacity analyses and precision approaches are defined; and support facility requirements are also defined. These descriptions and analyses in the Draft ALP only determined the minimum requirements for efficient operations for the future Airport development scenarios.
