Site M-4 Elementary School Project

Description

In July 2011, the University approved Phase 1 of the project which included site remediation in the form of slope stabilization, erosion control, and drainage improvements to address life safety issues associated with land erosion at the bluff face located south of the house, while protecting cultural, archaeological and historical resources. In January 2012, the University approved Phase 2 of the project which includes rehabilitation of the existing University House to provide seismic and structural upgrades, utility and site improvements, and improvements and repairs to the public and private spaces to address life safety and code compliance issues and improve functionality. The Phase 1 action included certification of the project EIR, adoption of a Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program, and the adoption of Findings and Overriding Considerations for both Phases 1 and 2. The current traction includes minor scope changes to the Project to restore the existing decades-old pool, including replacement of pumps, providing gas and electrical services, and refinishing of the existing pool lining.
