Title
Installation of a Nitrate Treatment System for Salinas Drinking Water Well Station 65 and 103
Description
The California Water Service Company is proposing to install a nitrate removal system at Station 103-01 to treat groundwater from Wells 103-01 and 65-01. A 12" pipeline to transmit raw water from Well 65-01 to 103-01 was installed in September 2008. The nitrate removal system will consist of an ion exchange system to reduce the nitrate from the combined well sources. The system will be installed at Station 103-01 and will consist of a 10'X35'LX9'H removal unit container, 2 waste brine storage tanks with a 6,650 gallon capacity, and one salt storage tank with a 9,100 gallon capacity. The project also includes an emergency backup generator.
