Title: Health Sciences Biomedical Research Facility 2 Project-Tiered from SCH # 2003081023
Description: The project will construct an ~148,350 to 183,850 sf academic building on the UC San Diego campus. The building will provide new wet research laboratories, laboratory support space, core labs and offices in the School of Medicine. The proposed building will have a rectangular-shaped footprint with a 4- to 5-story laboratory building with a basement level and a 5- to 7-story office component. A tunnel will be constructed to connect the building to the adjacent Pharmacy Building which has an existing vivarium and loading dock access that would be shared with the project. The 3.3 acre project site is currently developed with several temporary modular buildings, landscaped open space, and portions of an existing surface parking lot.
