Project Info
- Title
- Al Tahoe Erosion Control Project 1, EIP #696
- Description
- The Project provides improvements to the storm water collection system, including removing 20 existing drain inlets along Pasadena, Lakeview, Alameda, Tallac, and San Francisco Avenues, replacing them with drop inlets with sediment collection sumps and the capacity to infiltrate storm water and snow melt, and replacing the existing storm drain system to further encourage infiltration. The Project also includes plans to install an advanced treatment media filter with a pretreatment vault at the terminus of Pasadena Avenue, which will connect to the existing storm drain outlet. Additionally, the planned Project includes the installation of an infiltration system at the corner of Modesto and Riverside Avenues; and installation of permeable pavements on the shoulders along Pasadena Avenue from Modesto to Lakeview Avenues. Additionally, installation of parking deterrent should encourage drivers to park on the pavement, allowing the re-vegetated shoulder to provide natural infiltration and erosion control. With the help of the Tahoe Resource Conservation District, homeowners and local businesses will also be encouraged to implement Best Management Practices (BMPs) to reduce storm water run-off from private property.
