Title
I-580 Westbound HOV Lane Project (EA Np. 890820)
Description
In cooperation with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency proposes to construct a westbound HOV land along a 13.1-mile segment of I-580, in eastern Alameda County. The Project will result in impacts to 13.108 acres of California tiger salamander habitat including temporary impacts to 0.95 acres. The Project will result in the permanent loss of 13.013 acres of California tiger salamander habitat and is expected to result in the incidental take of California tiger salamander, a species designated as threatened under the California Endangered Species Act. The ITP referenced above as issued by DFG authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation, subject to various conditions that will, among other things, minimize and fully mitigate the authorized impacts of the taking.
