Title: Arroyo Simi Bank Restoration at the Water Quality Control Plant
Description: The Applicant intends to alter the streambed by constructing bank protection along the northwest bank of the Arroyo Simi, adjacent to the City of Simi Valley's water quality control plant. A combination of rock groins and pile retard system will be installed along the failing concrete, riprap slope (existing). The pile retard system will include 9 bents. Each bent is composed of 8-15 piles, which will be driven into the ground every 6-8 ft. Each pile will be connected with rows of half-inch galvanized steel cable. Five rock groins will be constructed and will construct at a 9.5 ft width and vary in length from 25-50 ft. A portion of the bents and groins will be tied into the existing bank protection.
