Title
State Route 4 Median Buffer Zone
Description
Caltrans proposes to build a 6-foot buffer zone between opposing traffic on State Route 4 in Contra Costa County from Marsh Creek Road to the Contra Costa/San Joaquin County line. The project will require the widening of the Kellogg Creek Bridge to provide standard shoulders. Minimization measures will be implemented per the East Contra Costa County Habitat Conservation Strategy. Caltrans shall compensate for giant garter snake and delta smelt habitat impacts by purchasing conservation credits at sites approved by DFG. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2010-0066-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Mr. Maximo Anasco/California Department of Transportation.
